The Sugarloaf Community Improvement District (CID) was formed in 2016 and is made up of 115 commercial property owners that pay an additional property tax within the Sugarloaf area in Gwinnett County, GA. The CID leverages these funds to advance transportation, security, and placemaking projects within the district enhancing the value and quality of life for investors, businesses, residents, and visitors. Sugarloaf is home to the Gas South District, Sugarloaf Mills, and a thriving business community. We have 7% of Gwinnett County’s jobs, including 1,278 companies representing 26,669 employees. The Sugarloaf district has a $15.6 billion annual economic impact on Georgia’s economy

Project Manager Position

Job Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for a variety of project management and operational duties. These include collaborating with government partners and consultant teams to ensure that projects are delivered in a timely manner and within budget. They also include preparing board reports, assisting with marketing and communications, and other operational duties as needed. The position reports directly to the Executive Director and works to support the organization and the Board of Directors. The position requires excellent project management and communication skills, attention to detail, an ability to work with minimum supervision, and a team-oriented attitude along with a strong desire to contribute to the organization’s success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • •  Advise and collaborate with the Executive Director on existing projects as well as potential future projects that further the Sugarloaf CID’s interests
  •  
  • •  Advance projects from planning through implementation
  •  
  • •  Manage grant applications and/or strategic funding requests in coordination with Executive Director
  •  
  • •  Coordinate with government agencies as needed for projects
  •  
  • •  Collaborate with Executive Director on outreach and public relations activities including meetings with property owners and speaking engagements
  •  
  • •  Oversee the Landscape Maintenance Program – procure, manage, and oversee contractor responsible for right-of-way maintenance and landscaping installations
  •  
  • •  Oversee the Flock Safety Program and coordinate with the Gwinnett Police Department to track results
  •  
  • •  Prepare and submit projects for inclusion in local and regional planning documents and long and short-term transportation plans
  •  
  • •  Tackle additional responsibilities and special projects as needed
  •  
  • •  Assist in preparing for Board meetings; assist the Executive Director with Board Elections; prepare meeting minutes
  •  
  • •  Write monthly project updates for Board
  •  
  • •  Assist with special projects as needed such as research, marketing, website, social media, annual reports, and others as assigned
  •  
  • •  Assist with the coordination, process, and recovery of damaged assets (i.e., banners and landscape materials)
  •  
  • •  Ability to work full time and occasionally flexing work hours to attend evening community meetings and events
  •  
  • •  Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director

Educational/Professional Experience:

  • •  Bachelor’s degree in city and regional planning, landscape architecture, engineering, public policy, or related field
  •  
  • •  3+ years of professional experience desired with necessary administration and management skills

Qualifications:

  • •  Strong organizational and time management capabilities
  •  
  • •  Excellent communicator (both verbal and written)
  •  
  • •  Ability to meet with and establish relationships with high-level government officials, speak to large audiences, and interface with the general public

  • •  Project management expertise with the ability to create clear, concise reports
  •  
  • •  Ability to work independently on multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  •  
  • •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
