State of Georgia Updates

Governor Brian Kemp’s June 11th executive order relaxes previous restrictions that have been put in place to help stop the spread of COVID-19. The order includes no limits on the number of dine-in customers at restaurants, allows for conventions to resume, and reopens live performance venues provided they meet certain criteria. Gwinnett County Government COVID-19 News and Updates

The Governor’s Executive Order supersedes the stay at home order issued by Gwinnett County on March 27, 2020. Find information on the county response to COVID-19 here.

Gwinnett County Offers Business Loans and Grants

Gwinnett County is offering $20 million in federal CARES Act loans and grants for local for-profit businesses that have been hurt during the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds are intended to help businesses reopen their doors with such needs as deep cleaning facilities, modifying facilities to accommodate ongoing social distancing, restocking inventory, marketing to their clients, and/or paying staff in advance of reopening and achieving revenue. Applications for the funds will be available June 30. Learn more here.

SBA Coronavirus Relief Options

If your business is suffering due to COVID-19, you may be eligible for support through the U.S. Small Business Administration. The Small Business Development Center at the University of Georgia has prepared a helpful overview of the programs here. Find out the details on the SBA website here.

NOTICE OF SUGARLOAF COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT ELECTION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN as provided in the GWINNETT COUNTY COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS ACT (Ga. L. 2001, p. 3709, et. seq.) that a caucus of Electors of the Sugarloaf Community Improvement District (CID) shall be held on the 8th day of April, 2021 at the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, 6500 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth, Gwinnett County, Georgia 30097. The purpose of the caucus is to elect Board Members to serve in Posts 2 & 5 on the Sugarloaf Community Improvement District Board. Registration for the election shall be held from 9:15 o’clock A.M. to 9:45 o’clock A.M. Voting will occur immediately after every Elector who has arrived at the registration table by 9:45 o’clock A.M. has registered. A map of said District is on file with the Gwinnett County Clerk and the Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner. All Electors as designated under the Act are invited to attend and cast their votes.
