Earlier this month, Sugarloaf CID property owners met for the CID’s first annual member meeting. The goal of the event was to bring together investors in the CID and major stakeholders to share the CID’s success stories and learn about what is happening in the Sugarloaf market.
CID Board Chairman Brand Morgan kicked off the event with a welcome and introduction of the CID board members. He shared highlights including the fact that the CID has leveraged almost $10 million in improvements for the area.
Chairman Morgan then invited Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson to share the County’s partnership successes with the CID. The Chairwoman shared that the CID and the County have worked together on many projects to ensure the district is connected, safe, and attractive and talked about the importance of the Gas South District and the entire Sugarloaf area to Gwinnett County.
Sugarloaf CID Executive Director Alyssa Davis then shared examples of CID investments in major roadway improvements, trails, transit, Flock cameras, landscape installations, right of way maintenance, and signage to brand the community. She shared stats on the Sugarloaf market that can be found on the Sugarloaf CID StoryMap, created with help from Partnership Gwinnett. She also asked CID members to take a survey to share their thoughts on what they would like to see in future meetings and smaller group roundtables.
CID Board Treasurer and CEO of the Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau Stan Hall shared an update on development plans at the Gas South District.
Chairman Morgan closed out the meeting sharing that the CID continues to grow and accept new members. If you are a property owner interested in joining the CID, please contact CID Director Alyssa Davis.
