Sugarloaf Parkway Corridor Improvements

Project Goal

Improvements include the following:

  • 3 westbound lanes from Sugarloaf @ Gas South District entrance to I-85 southbound ramps
  • 3 eastbound lanes from I-85 ramps to Sugarloaf Pkwy – 1 inside most lane drops to exclusive left at Sugarloaf @ Gas South District entrance
  • Dual lefts into Gas South District and triple lefts at southbound Satellite onto eastbound Sugarloaf
  • Mast arm signals at Sugarloaf @ Satellite and Sugarloaf @ Gas South District entrance, pavers, and landscaping upgrades

This project represents the gateway to the CID and the Gas South District, a major destination that attracts over a million visitors a year. These improvements will reduce vehicle delays at the intersection, which are expected to increase with new development in the area.
